Sick Animals

It's never nice having sick animals, and let's be honest vets can be expensive. However we always consult a vet when we aren't sure and we recommend you do the same.

In the long run it can save money have a look at the example below.

Let's say you hatch 20 large breed chicks. They live to around 12 weeks of age and become sick and over the next week or so they all die. They have probably cost a total of 3 bags of starter crumbles at $25 a bag that $75 and 2 bags of grower pellets thats another $50. Total loss of $125.00. You could have sold them for say $30 each so thats another $600 loss. Total loss of $725.

You could have gone to the vet, let's say $40 consultation fee. Maybe a couple of tests say $100. Then maybe some treatment at $50. Total vet fees of $190.00.

So had you have contacted the vet you still could have sold them and made an overall profit of $385.00.

So even though it may seem like an expense a vet can actually help you to make money in the long run. So before you lose all of your money consider your vet as an investment in your animals future rather than an expense. It can save alot of money and heart ache in the long run.

We consult with, use and recommend the Murray Bridge Vet clinic for all your animal needs. (including poultry)
